Art Competition

October 22nd at the Expo

The Camden Horse and Hound Expo Art Show will be a juried and judged competition with submissions at $25 per painting.  All artists are invited to submit artwork to be displayed and sold.

Paintings will be judged in several categories with prize money associated.  The paintings will be displayed outdoors (please consider this when submitting pieces must be somewhat weather resistant).  Not all paintings submitted via email will be accepted all must be within the theme of  Horses, Hounds, and/or outdoors.

Paintings will be submitted via email to currie@me.com please include size framing style front and back photo (so that we can plan for installation), medium and title, as well as sale price. All paintings must have sale prices no greater than $2500.  Artists must be able to drop paintings at the show headquarters (The Requestrian at 2600 Broad St during business hours) in downtown Camden SC and retrieve paintings that have not been purchased from the same location within one week of the expo.  The drop-off deadline will be Friday, Oct 20th and pick-up deadline will be the following Friday.  You are also welcome to take your piece with you after 5 pm, Sunday, Oct 21st from the event.

About our judge: Elizabeth Gaines McKeever is a summa cum laude MFA graduate of the Savannah College of Art and Design. Her career highlights include working with Rachel McAdams as a painting tutor during the filming of The Notebook, recipient of the Lowcountry Artist of the Year Award, and certification for helping break a Guinness World Record through the creation of a public sculpture for Summerville, SC World’s Largest Sweet Tea. When not painting, you might find her behind the scenes as a PMP-certified project manager who has helped hide cell equipment at visually sensitive locations such as the Smithsonian.
